The classic clashes:
1960
Division One
SPURS 4 BURNLEY 4
All-conquering Spurs were giving their own fans a treat after romping to a four-goal lead against reigning First Division champions Burnley, when one of the greatest fightbacks in league history took place. John Connelly, Jimmy Robson and Ray Pointer all netted before Connelly stunned White Hart Lane with the equaliser.
1962
FA Cup Final
BURNLEY 1 SPURS 3
Jimmy Robson famously scored the 100th goal in FA Cup finals at Wembley Stadium, but it was not enough to save Burnley in only their third ever final appearance.
1983
Milk Cup quarter final
SPURS 1 BURNLEY 4
The Clarets sprung one of the biggest shocks in the competition on the day they sacked Brian Miller. Frank Casper took charge of the team, who came from a goal down to win through two Graham Roberts own goals and a Billy Hamilton brace.
2002
Worthington Cup Rd 3
BURNLEY 2 SPURS 1
Gus Poyet looked to be following the script when he headed Spurs ahead, only for Robbie Blake to level just before the hour with a deflected strike. Steve Davis earned the Clarets a home tie with Manchester United with the winner soon after.
