BOSSES of a Burnley underwear business are celebrating a boom in trade after selling lingerie over the internet on auction website - Ebay.
Rachael, 33, and Colin White, 32, have gradually gone from auctioning their children's old clothes and bric-a-brac to setting up their own company called Thingimijigs, selling underwear on the Internet.
After hearing about Ebay, and giving it a go during summer 2003, the pair found it a good way to make money without having to step out of their front door.
Rachael, also known as 'Del Boy' to her friends, chose to sell underwear garments which are proving to be very popular.
The mum of two children, Ellie, three and Alfie, two, wants to target a specific market and become as well known as underwear company, Ann Summers.
People from around the world including America, Greece and France have bought Thingimijigs products.
Rachael, who lives in Burnley and works at a local recruitment company, is hoping her lingerie parties will be just as popular.
She said: "At first we were dubious about selling items over the internet and didn't want to rush into anything. Colin and I are pleased with how well it's gone and we were well over last month's target.
"We are finding that both men and women are buying our underwear who would usually find it uncomfortable going into a shop."
