I FEEL I must write in response to N Eke's letter (November 3).
Whilst I agree with some aspects, I am horrified to hear him say people have no pride in the town, litter strewn everywhere and rats.
Where. I ask?
I've never seen any. As for litter, this town is as clean as anywhere else.
There are at times, I've seen people not attempting to put their rubbish in a bin, when there are plenty in the town to use.
This does anger me a little. I think it depends on how you've been brought up.
I've seen the mess in Darwen Street, after people who've been out on the town but it's quickly sorted and made clean again. I have no complaints about litter being a problem because I don't think there is one.
C DUCKETT.
