THE owner of a 'swingers' club who has been banned from holding parties at his Preston home says he is considering opening a hostel for asylum seekers.
Brian Fenby, who runs Fun 4 Two, said he may relocate the club after council chiefs issued a stop notice on parties at the Powis Road property following complaints from neighbours about parking and noise in the early hours.
And although Mr Fenby says he may pull the plug on weekly parties, he plans to continue with his monthly themed events which, he claims, attract up to 150 people.
"The council can stop me from advertising and charging but they cannot stop me from hosting a private party," he said.
"I am looking at my options. For the moment the parties will go on. I have been offered a site in Preston where I could have the club.
"The swinging scene in Preston is big and it's here to stay."
One regular at the club has hit out at those who oppose it.
"If people just got to know Brian and didn't judge him for his sexual preferences they would realise they have got a neighbour who is every bit a gentleman," said Rob, 47, a driver from Southport. "I have been swinging for most my adult life. I enjoy the visual aspect and taking part.
"I am just taking part in what people watch in pornographic videos, except it I do it for free and for fun.
"People who swing are just ordinary people. I will not be put off going to the parties, of course I will continue to go."
He also said he had never found parking to be a problem as he had always used the drive way that can accommodate up to 12 cars.
On Monday councillors at Preston City Council's planning committee voted unanimously to issue a stop notice and an enforcement notice banning Mr Fenby from holding the parties. He can appeal the decision.
