MORE than 100 Jewish ex-servicemen and women joined the AJEX remembrance day parade and service at Heathlands Village in Prestwich last Sunday.
Members of the Association of Jewish Ex-Servicemen and Women (AJEX) gathered at the old people's home to honour the fallen of two world wars of all denominations.
Chief guest and reviewing officer was Brigadier John Thomson (OBE), the deputy inspector general of Territorial Army and Cadets and the clergy was Rabbi Joshua Rubenstein, of the North Manchester and Central Synagogue.
Mr Henry Gutterman, an executive member of Heathlands, was present along with members of the armed forces.
AJEX branch chairman David Teacher welcomed everyone to the service and reiterated the message that those of us who are left owe our lives to those who made the supreme sacrifice.
Representatives of AJEX will also be present at this Sunday's Remembrance Day events at Prestwich, Whitefield and Unsworth.
