Firefighters spent three hours tackling a blaze at Pal Pallets, Springhill Road, at 5.15am today.
A Leyland Road Runner lorry worth £1,000 and 200 wooden pallets were destroyed.
Paul Lorriman, 42, who has owned the business for the past 23 years, said: "I don't know who would have done this. I don't have any enemies.
"I haven't any insurance because I had two fires in the past. It was already costing me £1,000 for the insurance, so I decided not to bother with it any more and just withstand any costs.
Police and senior firefighters were today due to go back to the site to investigate the cause of the blaze.
