ONCE again I have been ticked off for taking recyclable materials to the household waste recycling centre at Salt Ayre. My offence is that I am a pedestrian and, therefore, a hazard.
I remonstrated with the SITA employee who stopped me, pointing out that everyone who visits the site is a pedestrian once they alight from their cars.
He said that I would be allowed on site on a bicycle - unfortunately I would certainly be a hazard on that mode of transport.
I am not going to be deterred from recycling, so if any Citizen readers visiting the recycling site spots a lone woman with a rucksack waiting on the perimeter would you be kind enough to stop and give me a lift onto the site.
Margaret Watkins, Lancaster.
