NEW firework laws have made no difference.
Fireworks are still causing fear, danger and suffering, are still being used as weapons, let off and thrown in public places and getting into the hands of the under age.
Fireworks are still sold 365 days of the year and legally let off 16 hours of every day, with the exception of November 5 (when it is extended by an hour to midnight), Diwali, Chinese New Year and New Year's Eve, when there is an extra two hours to 1am.
Fireworks are still too loud, 120db for garden fireworks and 130db plus for display. Why, when 85db and above can damage human hearing.
Fireworks are not private nor personal as they disturb and frighten people and animals for miles around.
Fireworks should not be sold to the public, they should be restricted to organised licensed displays only at fixed times of the year.
This is why I have launched a new petition calling for stricter rules. If anyone would like to add their name or receive petition forms, write to me at the address below.
