A WOMAN was stabbed and two men left with facial injuries following two separate attacks in Morecambe.

The 42-year-old Lancaster woman was grabbed around the neck by a man as she walked down Green Street at 7pm on Sunday.

He pulled at her handbag and demanded she hand over her goods but she refused and was stabbed in her left hand during the struggle.

It is believed that the knife had a three-inch blade with a serrated edge.

The man was white, in his twenties with blonde spiky hair, had a slim build and a husky voice. He wore blue jeans

Three other males with dark hair accompanied him but the woman says they took no part in the assault.

She was treated in hospital for stab wounds.

In a separate attack, an 18-year-old and a 23-year-old from Carnforth were waiting in the Chicken Hut, Marine Road West, in the early hours of Sunday morning when three men approached them and demanded cash.

They both refused. One was head-butted in the face and the other punched in the face. They both suffered facial injuries.

The attackers were in their 20's, wore tracksuit bottoms. The tallest attacker had a shaven head and a black eye.

Anyone with information on either of the attacks should call DC Simon Balderstone on 01524-596941 or call Crimestoppers on 0800-555111.
