MARK Molyneaux hopes his side will continue to stick to their job description.

Rossendale United turned in a five-star performance to record a 5-1 away win at Brigg Town last Saturday.

And player-manager Molyneaux believes such an emphatic win was down to players following instructions.

"I gave everyone a job to do and they did it. We were tremendous," said the Dale goalkeeper ahead of tomorrow's trip to Spalding United.

"I was disappointed with the goal we let in because it was a poor decision by the referee to award a free kick, which they took quickly and scored.

"But everyone played really well."

Molyneaux added that competition for places was also a major factor in his side's improved performances.

"We've got two players for almost every position now so everyone realises they are under pressure for their place," he said.

"Plus I'm also looking to sign another two or three players this week.

"I will have run their socks off in training this week. The only time they'll get a bit of a rest is when we're top of the league.

"Other than that they'll be working hard every week because the fitness isn't what I want it to be."

Molyneaux hopes to have Chris Clark available tomorrow following a back injury. Mark Redshaw also returned to training this week after a bout of mumps and Dean Cooper is expected to be available for selection.
