Christmas is about tradition, about making it just like the ones we used know. So plenty of turkey, mistletoe and Only Fools and Horses then.
But from a music point of view, there's only one place to go when it comes to revisiting your past. And that is Retro, the good old-fashioned old-school party night which grew up in Burnley and is now big all over the world.
They've got a massive December lined up and one of the biggest nights of the lot is going to be in Burnley. In fact, any hopes Paul Taylor had of enjoying a quiet Boxing Day in front of the TV went out of the window when he organised not one, but two gigs in one night!
The Retrosexual Boxing Day special takes place at XS Club in Burnley on Sunday, December 26. Paul and Ray Davies will be there from 9pm-3am and admission is £8.
The capacity is 2,000 and Paul said: "We're really enjoying Burnley and this Christmas is going to be a mad one. I'm looking forward to this night out, it's going to busy."
Also on the same night, Paul will host a Retro Boxing Day Special until 5am at Town and Country Club, Manningham Lane, Bradford.
Along with him will be Paul from K-Klass - who performed in Accrington last week - along with Retro regulars Danny Whitehead and Rhianna. Tickets are £10, but more on the door.
But, if you thought Christmas was going to be busy, it's nothing compared to what is lined up for New Year - which runs over three days.
Part one is at Tall Trees in Yarm, near Middlesbrough, where Paul and Rhianna are joined by Jay Lee Lloyd for a night which runs from 8.30pm-4am. It's got a 5,000 capacity and Paul said: "I love going there. Tickets are £25 and all the hotels book up because people travel from so far. We get a load from East Lancashire."
Part two is on Saturday, January 1 at Foundation in Market Street, Wakefield, when Paul is with Tony Walker in the main room while Jay Lee Lloyd is in the Love Funky room.
The third, and final, is an all-nighter from the Saturday into the Sunday.
Paul joins Matthew Boothy from 3am until 8am at The Tube. It is £7 on the door.
But for those who can't wait until after Christmas, Retro has its monthly session at XS on Saturday, December 18, from 9pm until 3am. Tickets cost £10.
