HEARTLESS owners dumped two cats outside the home of a charity helper over the bonfire weekend.

The adult felines, a tabby female in need of medical attention, and a black and white neutered tom, were discovered petrified in a side alley by Leigh Cats' Protection League fosterer Julia Cox's Lowton home.

Julia, who is now seeking good homes for the pair, said: "I don't know how long they had been there but they were in a filthy condition and their bedding was wet through. There is no need for anyone to be so cruel, they could have knocked at the door.

"Some people just don't care, I wish they would think before they get them. We are looking for new homes for over 100 adult cats, the youngest is two and the oldest 17."

Anyone who can offer an unwanted cat a new home can contact Julia on 262826.
