IT'S CHOCKS away for Blackpool's Vulcan bomber, star of a thrilling internet auction.
The 40 ton aeroplane - which has graced the entrance of Blackpool Airport for 21 years - has been sold for £15,0103.13 on eBay by owner Brian Bateson of the Blackpool Air Centre.
At one point during the auction, bids rose above £13 million for 'XL391', but they were found to be hoax and Brian shut the auction to all but pre-approved bidders.
The winner was delighted dad-of-three Chris Ollerenshaw, 50-year-old landlord of The Snipe Inn, Dukinfield, Greater Manchester. He plans to put the revamped Vulcan in his beer garden as an attraction.
Brian has given Chris two months to collect his 'new toy' - and he might need the time. Haulage firms have told Chris the Vulcan's wings are wider than a three-lane motorway, so they'll have to be taken off before the bomber hits the road!
