A 19-YEAR-OLD man from Little Harwood is still critically ill after jumping from a moving bus in Blackburn on Wednesday night.
Police today confirmed the youngster was in a stable condition and in intensive care at the Royal Preston Hospital after neurosurgery to stop bleeding from his brain.
The accident occurred at 10.35pm after a row erupted with a group of youths and the driver of the number 14 Blackburn Transport Bus.
Police believe the driver had told the seven youths he was going to go back to the bus station for safety if they didn't calm down. It is then alleged the gang pressed the emergency door open button and tried to leap from the bus, which was then moving at around 10mph.
Another boy, also 19, is believed to have jumped first, escaping unhurt, but the second fell hitting his head on the pavement as he tumbled backwards.
