Parents in the Preston and Nelson areas have the chance to find out more about Blueprint, a ground-breaking secondary school health education programme.

This November a series of informal 'drop-in' sessions will take place and parents are being urged to take part.

The sessions are open to all members of the community, particularly parents of children already involved in Blueprint drug education lessons at Moor Park High School and Christ The King High School in Preston and Walton High School in Nelson. Other adult community members interested in helping with the project locally are also welcome.

Janet Faqiri from the Centre for Ethnicity and Health at the University of Central Lancashire, said, "The Blueprint information sessions are aimed at parents and members of the wider community to provide a really informal way of letting them know more about the Blueprint programme, and ways in which they can get actively involved.

"We do hope that people will take this opportunity to drop in and find out more, even if it is just for a few minutes."

The sessions are being held at Whitefield Community Hall in Nelson on Monday 22 November; Quaker Meeting House (women only), St Georges Road and the Catherine Beckett Centre, Preston (all welcome) on Tuesday 23 November; Clarenden Community Centre, Preston on 24 November and the YMCA in Preston on 25 November.
