ON Tuesday, November 2 after a shopping trip I was unfortunately returning home on the Hyndburn Circular Bus No 7 from Accrington centre to Great Harwood, the time would be about 3.30pm.

Why unfortunately? Well it was full of school children making their usual noisy bedlam. I understand high spirits, but this time it was horrific.

Adults, small children and pensioners were treated to the most terrible, foul and filthy language spoken quite loudly by boys wearing green sweaters, obviously school uniform, their age around 14 years.

From Accrington to Sparth Road, Clayton, where they alighted, nobody said a word to them and they showed no respect whatsoever for anyone present.

I was appalled and depressed with this disgusting and unsociable behaviour. Do we really have to put up with this? It is up to adults to shout these sickening children down. If enough of us make a fuss we may get some peace.

If this sort of behaviour is allowed to go on unchecked, in a few years' time children will be ruling adults.
