COMMUNITY wardens and police are to conduct a high profile litter blitz in the Colne Road area of Burnley on Monday.
The move follows complaints from residents about litter louts.
Police Community Support Officer Nigel Keates and PC Richard Collopy will be handing out £50 fixed penalty tickets to anyone caught flouting the law.
Burnley's community wardens will be assisting by reporting offenders and informing people of the campaign.
PCSO Keates said: "Local residents and members of the Burnley Lane Residents Group have worked tirelessly along with Burnley council's Operation Red Card to successfully clear the area's grot spots.
"Our action is designed to support their efforts and reinforce the message that irresponsible members of the community have two choices: clear up or pay up."
