BUDDING Linda Barkers from a local council centre have completed their own Changing Rooms style project.
A group of would-be interior designers signed up for a course which involved giving a drab room at the Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council's Women's Resource Centre, in Regent Street, the wow factor.
The makeover was part of a course sponsored by Elevate, which is spearheading the housing market renewal programme in East Lancashire. The Changing Rooms course is one of many being funded by Elevate in a bid to prepare local people for the jobs boost which will arrive when developers begin to build hundreds of new homes and refurbish thousands more in East Lancashire under the Government scheme to give residents homes for the 21st century. The women on the eight-week course also created a piece of artwork for the room.
