DUE to a leg injury, I have had to rely largely on public transport recently. My first choice would have been the train but the idiotic timetable has made my journey impossible, so buses it had to be.

The buses are clean, reliable and far more comfortable than those clapped-out Pacers. All the efforts of Stagecoach and Lancashire United come to nothing when they enter what Blackburn is trying to pass off as a bus station.

The most obvious fault is the total lack of amenities such as toilets and an inquiry office. The seats, such as they are, are carefully positioned inside a wind-tunnel.

The road exit heading west is awkward while that to the east is just an accident waiting to happen.

My suggestion is that a delegation from the council go to Chorley to see how a bus station ought to be.
