A DEPRESSED mother-of-two from Brierfield who sparked a police manhunt after she disappeared has been found.
Mashrit Gahfur, 25, disappeared on Friday morning after leaving her four-year-old daughter with her parents while her five-year-old son was at school.
Police said she did not speak to her parents, who discovered a note on the child saying the mother was depressed. Detectives were so concerned they set up a special team to investigate her disappearance and her parents were over the weekend speaking to police through an interpreter to find out more information about Mashrit, who is known as Sonia to friends.
But on Saturday night police found Mashrit, who lives in Berkeley Street, after she contacted her family who told her about the police investigation. She then phoned police to say she was well.
Officers then visited Mashrit, at an undisclosed location, confirming she was safe.
