SCHOOLCHILDREN spent a night at one of Britain's most haunted houses as part of their Bronze Award for the Duke of Edinburgh Certificate - without knowing it.
The year 10 pupils from Queen's Park Technology College, Blackburn, camped at Waddow Hall, Clitheroe, before the site featured on the TV programme "Most Haunted".
And organiser Suzanne Bellard joked that the youngsters might not have been so keen if they had seen the programme first.
She said: "They have been a brilliant group and deserve everything they have achieved."
The overnight camp at Waddow Hall was part of a 15 mile 'back-pack' in the Ribble Valley which involved the teenagers planning and navigating their own route while carrying all necessary equipment.
Certificates for the expedition element of the Bronze Award will be presented at the Youth Achievement Awards at Ewood Park on Wednesday.
