JOE KINNEAR held a 90-minute inquest before vowing to rip apart his team of under-achievers.

The Forest boss gagged his players after spending an hour-and-a-half reading them the riot act.

And he finally emerged to call for emergency talks with his chairman in a bid to weed out the deadwood.

He said: "I wouldn't want to repeat what I said to the players in the dressing room, but there were some home truths and they know exactly how I feel.

"Our players have to be made responsible for their jobs and things need shaking up because I have gone as far as I can with this team.

"We certainly need an influx of new players because we've got to the stage where players pick themselves because we've no-one putting pressure on them.

"Players get complacent and I would think we are certainly four or five players short at the moment and that needs to be addressed.

"Myself, Mick Harford and the chairman will sit down today to talk about where we go from here because we certainly need to get two or three new players in this week."

Kinnear, who has been in charge at the City Ground since February, added: "I came here to fight relegation and nothing has changed.

"It's the same players that lost two games in 18 last season and that's the puzzling scenario.

"I've told them I don't think some of them are working as hard as we did last season, while others are lacking confidence.

"It's all the stuff that goes with a team fighting relegation and I'm getting fed up with it."
