IN recent weeks I have read with increasing bemusement the moaning of people who don't live in the town and moan about what a bad place it is to live in. Then I read Mr Spence complaining that bus shelters smell of urine etc. (LET, November 9).
Well, Mr Spence, I have lived in Blackburn all my life and yes I have visited many other towns which have the same problems as Blackburn.
I have yet to find this magical Shangri-La where all the town is spotless and none of the bus shelters smell of urine.
I wish you good luck in your search for it, but I am going to stay here and do my very best to make our town a better place to live.
I can say without reservation I am proud to be a Blackburnian.
Coun JIM SMITH, Mill Hill Ward, Blackburn.
