A WOMAN who has been accused of trying to bring young offenders into the Whitehall area of Darwen by opening a children's home for boys hopes to set the record straight tonight.
Pauline Ainsworth has applied to open a private children's home in Whitehall Terrace to cater for four teenage boys from local authority care.
But many neighbours have opposed the proposal over concerns of anti-social behaviour, and they held a meeting two weeks ago to voice their fears.
Mrs Ainsworth was unable to attend that meeting at which a letter was read out.
It said she had been legally advised not to attend and had not had sufficient time to invite representatives from the Children's Society and the National Youth Advocacy Service.
Now she has arranged a question and answer meeting at Spring Vale Church from 7.30pm.
