IT seems to me that Greg Pope MP should get his own house in order before he starts telling other people in other countries what to do.
Using the war on terror as an excuse to repress their own people is no more evident than in the UK with Mr Blunkett's National ID card scheme and his blatant disregard for article 5 of the Human Rights Act which has been abandoned so that people in this country can be detained without trial such as in Belmarsh Prison.
I read that Mr Pope wrote "We should be far more robust in telling the Americans that the human rights situation in Guantanamo is unacceptable."
Come on Mr Pope, Tough on terrorism, Tough on the causes of terrorism. Get Real! How about a new slogan fit for the 21st century; Tough on lies, Tough on the causes of Lies. This would be a great slogan to start a campaign to abolish party politics in the UK and then we could elect true representation in the Houses of Parliament.
