KEEP pets safe in home says PDSA. Winter is upon us and many pets will prefer to spend more time indoors than out, especially cats who will always opt for a cosy bed than a walk in the rain.
Britain's leading veterinaryc harity, PDSA is warning that even though pets are indoors that doesn't necessarily mean they are in less danger than if they where outside. The charity for pets in need of vets, see more household related injures to animals at this time of year that could have been prevented. Some of the most frequent pet injuries include chemicals, medicines, electrical equipment, food, plants and smoking. PDSA Senior Veterinary Surgeon, Elaine Pendlebury said: "Many curious cats curl up inside the drum of a tumble dryer or washing machine, this could be disastrous if the appliance is unknowingly switched on." You are advised to carry out a house safety check, removing, identifying and minimising any potential dangers. You should think of your pets as curious children, protect it .
