EVERY morning I take my children to Howe Bridge St Michael's Primary School, and every morning it never ceases to amaze me how no child is either seriously injured or killed.
Lazy, inconsiderate parents insist on parking opposite the school on Hope Fold Avenue right up the junction with Leigh Road, making it extremely hazardous for a) traffic turning off Leigh Road into Hope Fold, and more importantly, b) anyone who has to try and cross the road between cars parked on kerbs.
It takes 30 seconds to continue on down Hope Fold and park up safely (there is actually plenty of space!), and walk, oh say, 30 or 40 yards, but no, the 'me, me, me' minority can't see past the attitude of 'I'm here and its less distance to walk' - thats if they can beactually bothered get out of their cars and see their children across whats now become a very dangerous road!
The school themselves, to give them their due, have mentioned this situation in numerous letters, but come 8.50 in the morning this is all forgotten and the idiots prevail!!! For gods sake, take heed of the warnings before someone gets hurt!!
