A LOCAL community group is calling upon people to get their hands mucky by helping to plant trees at Animal Care in Scotforth.
The aim of 'Treesponsibilty' is to create a community wood where people visiting the sanctuary will be able to walk dogs and enjoy the views over Morecambe Bay.
Co-ordinator Rhiannon Westphal says: "Every day we are faced with news about global warming, threatened wildlife and deforestation. Planting trees is a great way for people to take action - it's fun and helps the environment."
Planting will take place next Saturday, Nov-ember 27, from 10am to 4pm - the third time that Treesponsibility has organised planting at Animal Care.
Fairtrade snacks and refreshments will be provided and anyone wishing to help is asked to take sturdy footwear, a packed lunch and water-proofs. Or to find out more, call 01524-840028.
