NEWCHURCH WI toasted Christmas past with glasses of cowslip wine.
Speaker Doreen Sanckson, dressed in authentic costume, took members back to a Victorian drawing room set out with ornaments and flowers and gave an interesting monologue involving shopping, postage costs, servants and Mrs Beeton, while her parlourmaid served up the vino.
A walk around Tatton Park has been arranged for November 25 and a day at Culcheth Primary School to help with Christmas decorations on the 26th.
