IN reply to Mr R Riddehough's flippant letter (LET, November 11). Firstly Mr Riddehough, to set the record straight, I worked for nearly 28 years for the NHS in nursing - and mill workers were the salt of the earth, putting Lancashire on the map.
Also my husband and I were fortunate to be able to take our children on holiday abroad nearly every year.
But I do hear Skegness is a lovely place for a holiday.
As regards school holidays, many parents are taking their children on holiday during term time for between one and two months at a time abroad.
This is unacceptable whether homework packs are taken or not.
I do have first hand knowledge of school holidays being an ex-school governor!
H HAMER (Mrs), Lowther Place, Blackburn.
