IN response to the letter (November 12) 'Filthy town looks like Beirut.' The issues raised in this letter are wholly unjustified.
Undoubtedly Blackburn town centre has long been regarded as 'filthy' but in this new age of regeneration things are much improved. Just take a look at the revamped Church Street or the immaculate new train station. Why are these places always overlooked?
Like any other town/city there are some unsightly areas but the amount of litter and grime has certainly been reduced.
Try taking on board a more positive attitude. Things don't happen overnight, but can you not see the vast improvements that have and still are being made? Your letter belongs to the Lancashire Evening Telegraph of the 1990s, not now.
