BOSSES have denied that Crown post offices in Prestwich and elsewhere in Greater Manchester are on a closure 'hit list'.
Although the network of main post offices nationally is losing £70 million a year, the Post Office says no plans have been drawn up to shut down any local Crown offices and announced a £20 million investment programme. The reassurance comes after 13 branch post offices throughout the borough were closed down earlier this year.
Bosses acknowledge that their Crown offices are a loss-making network and say that they are looking at a number of ways of resolving the situation.
