A PRESTWICH youth arrested in connection with an offence of criminal damage ended up in trouble for carving his name on a police cell door, Bury magistrates heard.
Gareth David Williams (19), of Rooden Court, Park Street, pleaded guilty to damaging a cell door belonging to Greater Manchester Police to an amount of £50.
He had used part of a zipper to scratch the words "Gaz W" on the door.
Williams denied a separate charge of damaging a car door in Prestwich, belonging to Mr Stephen Lawrence, to an amount of £500.
The case was adjourned to a pre-trial review on December 8 and Williams was granted unconditional bail.
