WAR veteran David Teacher was left with an unusual souvenir of Armistice Day this year.
As he parked his car in Manchester town centre, along with his wife Nancy, on Thursday November 11, he put his money in a pay and display machine.
This ordinary act turned into something quite bizarre as, when Mr Teacher studied the printed ticket, he noticed that the time he had to return to his car was 11:11am, on the eleventh day of the eleventh month.
Mr Teacher, of Kersal Road, said: "I had to look twice at the time printed!"
Mr Teacher, who was aged just 19 when he landed at Juno Beach, is the chairman of the Association of Jewish Ex-Servicemen and Women (AJEX).
