A TASTY agenda is on the menu at the next meeting of Whitefield and Unsworth area board.
Claims of 'reduced fat', 'low salt' and 'low sugar' in our food will come under the spotlight as the NHS Primary Care Trust unpicks the marketing jargon and food labels of our weekly shop.
They will also take along some dishes for sampling and a few challenges.
Area board chairman Coun Joan Grimshaw said: 'We all want to live long and healthy lives and avoid future health problems and what we eat has a critical role to play. Healthy eating is hitting the headlines but we need to be working with communities to provide information and raise awareness.'
The meeting will take place on Wednesday, at Philips High School in Whitefield from 7pm.
Also on the agenda will be information about the councils road gritting scheme and an open forum where members of the public can raise their own concerns.
