A PARTIALLY-SIGHTED pensioner was mugged outside her own home in Prestwich.
Detectives have described the attack on the 75-year-old woman as "despicable" and launched an appeal for witnesses to the incident in Richmond Avenue, Sedgley Park, at 4.30pm, on Wednesday, November 10.
The victim was unlocking her front door when she was approached from behind by a lone offender who ripped her handbag from her right shoulder and ran off.
He is believed to have escaped in a dark coloured Rover saloon
The handbag contained the womans purse and a small quantity of cash and personal papers.
The wanted man is described as white, 5ft 10ins, aged in his 20s, slim, with short dark hair.
Detective Constable Anthony Bleakley, from Bury's robbery unit, said: "This is a rather despicable incident carried out on an elderly and partially sighted woman who was entering her home address."
He can be contacted on (0161) 856 8093 if anyone has any information about the incident.
