IT was a disappointing display from Old Standians' reserve team, especially after going two goals up inside five minutes. Standians lined up with two wide forwards, Jorge Jesus Mendes on the left and Dan Perkin on the right, supporting lone striker Tom Graham.
A bit of Portuguese magic saw Mendes break down the left to deliver a low cross, which was met by Dan Perkin, and Standians were 1-0 up with only two minutes gone.
Three minutes later Andy Machin played Dan Perkin through, and he slipped the ball underneath the advancing Govern keeper to take his goal tally to five for the season.
But Standians then went from 2-0 up, to 3-2 down by half time.
It then didn't take Govern long to make it 4-2, and in the last five minutes the tired defence were stretched, and Govern added two more goals to rub salt into the Whitefield side's wounds.
OLD STANDIANS: Hornby, Hopkins, O'Shaugnessy, Newman (Hanley), Mark Perkin, Mendes, Machin (Draper), Hughes, Moogty (Meakin), Dan Perkin, Graham.
