A MAN who committed his second drink-driving offence this year is facing jail.
Burnley Magistrates heard that Wesley Atkinson, 27, was found in a vehicle on the motorway by police.
The defendant was not driving but the engine was running and he was arrested and taken to the police station.
Atkinson admitted he had driven from Accrington and accepted he was disqualified.
In February he had been given community rehabilitation for similar offences.
Atkinson, of Cragg Row, Salterforth, admitted driving with excess alcohol, driving while disqualified and without insurance.
He was bailed until December 8 for an all-options-open pre-sentence report.
A district judge told the defendant he was a danger to everybody else on the road and the court was bound to consider custody.
The court was told how, when breath-tested, Atkinson gave a breath test reading of 74 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 mililitres of breath - the legal limit is 35. In February his breath test revealed 72 microgrammes.
Mark Irlam, defending, said Atkinson had depression and anxiety, had recently had tests and may be suffering from diabetes.
