I READ with sadness that Dr Laurence Sherman has been suspended from the Greyland Medical Centre in Prestwich and is 'under investigation' (Guide, November 12).
One thing I do know for sure is that Dr Sherman is the best and the kindest doctor I have ever known. He has treated me for depression for years. This is no ordinary subject to deal with, yet I trusted Dr Sherman more than any other doctor or psychiatrist.
Patients in the waiting room all praised him for his kindness, and greatly respected him for his unquestionable skills.
Nothing appeared in any newspaper from Bury Primary Care Trust (PCT), referring to his selflessness or how he moved heaven and earth when someone was really poorly and needing specialist treatment. He had hundreds of patients and was always kind and understanding.
Dr Sherman is a real gentleman, a very good man and a first-class doctor.
