WHILST The Freedom Association welcomes the support of the public, and some sections of the press, for our campaign for a change in the law to protect the rights of home-owners who are attacked in their homes, we still need to persuade many of our politicians to back fundamental reform.
Our poll findings show that 80 per cent of respondents believe that intruders should lose all their rights to protection from the law when they enter another persons property with the intent of robbing, raping or harming the property-owner or their property. The public wants the law rebalanced in favour of the innocent home-owner and abhors the ability of convicted criminals to claim damages for injuries sustained whilst committing criminal acts.
If enough people join The Freedom Association campaign, and apply pressure on their local MP to back reform, we will eventually force all the main political parties to commit themselves to changing the present, wholly inadequate, law.
