A MAN was knocked down by a taxi as he tried to get away from police, a court heard.
Adam Whalley, 24, of Varley Street, Blackburn, was jailed at Burnley Crown Court for a total of 26 months after admitted threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour and possessing ecstasy.
The judge ordered he must serve the 20-month unexpired portion of his previous sentence before his new term of six months.
John O'Shea, prosecuting, told the court police saw the Whalley apparently throw a glass. He ran off, was chased by police and ran into the offside of a taxi.
He was arrested and an ambulance was called to check on his condition before he was taken to the police station.
Whalley was then put in a cell, where he tried to swallow something. He fell to the floor and 14 tablets were found by his mouth.
He was taken to Blackburn Royal Infirmary and was found in possession of 55 ecstasy tablets.
David Traynor, defending, said at the time Whalley was taking 60 ecstasy tablets each weekend.
