BLOOD found at the scene of a burglary at a Bury medical centre led to the arrest of a 21-year-old man.
David Payne, of Goldfinch Drive, Bury, pleaded guilty before the town's magistrates to entering Huntley Mount Medical Centre and stealing a computer worth £800.
Mr Khalid Qureshi, prosecuting, said police in Huntley Mount Road, Bury, in the early hours of the morning heard the centre alarm sound. They found a broken widow and later discovered a computer had been taken from the treatment room which had been ransacked.
Blood was found in the treatment room and spattered outside. DNA testing found a match with Payne who had previous convictions for burglary.
When he was eventually interviewed, Payne said he had no recollection of being at the centre. He said he had been to a medical centre in the town and to hospital but did not remember being in the Huntley Mount
premises.
Defending, Mr Anthony Shimmin said that, although he did not recollect the inicident, Payne acknowledged it must have been him from the blood samples. He said Payne did have a drugs problem but was now coming off drugs.
Pre-sentence reports were ordered and an application for bail was refused. He was remanded in custody until November 30 when he will be sentenced.
