FIREFIGHTERS were searching for trapped children after scaffolding collapsed outside five houses in Blackburn. A fire chief said it was a miracle nobody had been killed by falling rubble and metal at Larkhill Terrace. The homes were due to be demolished when scaffolding came crashing down an embankment on to busy Whalley New Road after an internal wall gave way. No-one was hurt.
