BELEAGUERED Chorley manager John Hughes has vowed to continue his fight to drag the Magpies out of the relegation zone.

Hughes says he isn't feeling the pressure, despite winning only three out of 18 league games and occupying second bottom spot.

And he has urged his players to give it their all in a bid to close the gap on their fellow strugglers.

"We played badly on Saturday for only the fourth time this season but we should still have got a point," Hughes said.

"To concede a goal in the 89th minute was frustrating. A silly error cost us again.

"I just feel gutted for the people who keep coming to watch us - they've stuck by us and we're not producing the goods.

"But we will carry on."

Chorley take a break from league action tonight when they entertain Mossley in the UniBond League Challenge Cup second round (kick-off 7.45pm).

But the Magpies' bid for an upturn in fortunes has been hampered by a glut of injuries.

Lee Pennington pulled up after 20 minutes with a recurrence of a knee problem which had kept him sidelined for around a month, Richard Fogerty is doubtful after twisting his ankle, Ian Callaghan is sidelined and John Borland could be out for up to six weeks with ankle ligament damage.
