NOT only does this council want to spend £180,000 of our hard-earned money on block paving the residential side of Spring Street, they happily waste it on improving Heywood Street. Now comes a total monstrosity on the Victoria estate in Whitefield.
They are wasting our taxes on a massive 15-week operation to do what can only be described as worsening the access to this deprived area.
It appears that at every junction they feel the need to narrow the road to single file in one direction only, as well as providing expensive block paving. I can guarantee this will cause accidents and 'road rage' incidents.
Such a restriction makes it difficult for me to get my Ford Transit through, never mind someone driving an ambulance or fire engine.
It seems to me that the council are spending our money on needless projects and not addressing the relevant issues. Is it just me, or does anyone else feel this way?
