DO you remember jiving to Eddie Cochran, Elvis and Jerry Lee Lewis? Twisted to Chubby Checker? Danced around your handbag?
Wouldn't you love to dance and re-live those sounds from the late 50's through to 1969? You can -- at Canterbury Hall, Garstang Road, on Friday, December 3, from 7.30pm. What price to dance the night away, have top ex-radio Caroline DJ Carl England spinning the discs and Ray Shenton singing rock n roll hits from the 50's and 60's?
We can't quite get back to the few bob it would have cost you then. It is though only £3 and the bar prices at Canterbury Hall are reasonably cheaper than most pubs. The dance floor is large so there is plenty of room for the most energetic jivers! If you want to drive then there is a large car park.
OK, so you might look in the mirror and know you're not 16! In your heart though, you still are. You're a boom baby -- you'll never grow old. If you love rock and roll, or just want to listen to the music of the era whatever your age then come along and have a cracking night out. If you want to dress up in 50's or 60's clothes then so much the better. Have you favourite songs from the era? Whether it's rock and roll, pop or a ballad etc then email it to us and we'll try to play it. Our address is rocknrollroadshow@hotmail.com or call on 01772 495791 for further details.
Do you have a favourite song from the 50's and 60's?
Come along on the night and it could win you a fabulous raffle prize. Simply write the record on a postcard, with your name and hand it to the DJ. We'll do our best to play it.
