A 36-YEAR-old Rishton man has appeared in court charged with conspiracy to supply ecstasy tablets two months after proceedings against him were discharged.
Simon Day, of Walmsley Street, was arrested after a police operation in July when ecstasy tablets with a value of up to £100,000 were seized.
One man, Paul Padden, remains in custody awaiting trial at Preston Crown Court and a third, John Stewart, has left the country and is believed to be living in Holland.
Scott Ainge, prosecuting, said Day had been arrested and re-charged after new evidence involving mobile phone records.
The magistrates granted bail, with a surety of £50,000 provided by the defendant's mother Lynne Day, of Roe Greave Road, Oswaldtwistle. But the question of bail will now be put before a Crown Court judge after Mr Ainge lodged notice of appeal against the decision.
