BURNLEY'S youth team had a frosty reception when they turned up for last Saturday's fixture.
The bitterly cold weather of Thursday and Friday night had set in hard on the Gawthorpe pitch and the referee called off their meeting with Rochdale.
Despite a barren weekend, a few of the lads are expected to play a part in tonight's reserve game with Macclesfield at Turf Moor before returning to action on Saturday.
Darlington will be the visitors to Gawthorpe for the Alliance Premier Cup tie (11am).
Ryan Townsend is still injured and Keith Hanley suspended so boss Terry Pashley is likely to delve into the Under 16s side to make up a squad of 16.
