STAFF from the Breast Care Unit at Burnley General Hospital have received a cheque for £1,000 from workers at Ultrafinity Ltd in Burnley.
The company, which manufactures bathroom fittings, donates £12,000 per year to local charities and appeals nominated by members of staff.
This month's nomination will go towards a chemotherapy cold cap which is used to reduce the incidence of hair loss during chemotherapy and a new ultrasound machine to speed up diagnosis of breast cancer.
Mr David Sandilands, consultant surgeon, who received the cheque from Eileen Irwin and Dolores Glass from the company said: "I would like to thank the staff of Ultrafinity for naming the Breast Care Unit as the fund of their choice this month. Their contribution will go to a very worthwhile cause that will benefit many women."
