MORECAMBE people have set a new record for giving blood - with 129 people donating at a single session at The Platform this month.
Rachel Roberts, spokesperson for the National Blood Service, says each donation can help up to three people - so potentially the donations could have saved almost 400 lives.
Another blood donation session will be held at The Platform on Tuesday, December 7, from 2pm to 4pm and 5.30pm to 7:30pm. For more information or to book an appointment, call 08457-711711 or visit www.blood.co.uk.
o PEOPLE can also give blood at two sessions in Lancaster. The National Blood Service will be at the TA Centre, Alexandra Barracks, on Friday, December 3 and in the Town Hall on Monday, December 6. Sessions are from 2pm to 4pm and 5.50pm to 7.30pm.
